2015 is shaping up to be a great year for horror in both TV and film. The highly anticipated Walking Dead spinoff is supposed to appear towards the end of the year on TV and some of the best loved horror franchises have new films coming out in 2015 which fans are anxious to see. Ghostbusters is moving forward with an all-female reboot of the original and there is also a Zombieland 2 on the horizon.

The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death (January 2015)
The Woman in Black proved to be such a hit with audiences that the studio quickly made another one. This film is set 40 years after the events of the last film, and Daniel Radcliffe does make some small guest appearances in this film but won’t be a principal cast member. In this film a schoolteacher who is responsible for a class of kids left orphaned by the bombings in London takes the children to Eel Marsh House because they need a safe place to ride out the bombings. She has no idea how unsafe the house is. The Woman in Black torments them while the teacher and the pilot who helped them try to figure out what is happening in the house and how to stop The Woman in Black.
Poltergeist (July 2015)
One of the scariest films of all time gets a modern reboot in the new version of Poltergeist. In this version a father must confront demonic entities in order to recover his daughter, who has been kidnapped, safely. This reboot has been a long time in coming and many of the fans of the original film are anxious to see if the new film can measure up to the original, which is considered to be one of the classic movies in the horror genre. It’s been said that the original film was cursed due to several mysterious deaths that plagued the cast and crew. The oldest daughter in the film was murdered by her boyfriend and the youngest daughter, Heather O’Rourke died of the flu which was certainly mysterious. Hopefully the new cast won’t have to contend with the Poltergeist curse.
Scouts Vs Zombies (2015)
One of the highly anticipated horror comedies this year is Scouts Vs. Zombies which features a relatively young and unknown cast. The simple premise of the film is that three young friends who are all Scouts return from a scouting trip to find that the zombie apocalypse has claimed their friends and family and their town. It’s up to them to try and fight off zombies using their scouting skills and return the world to normal once again. Since zombie films and TV shows are always fan favorites a lot of zombie fans are looking forward to seeing these young scouts battle evil zombies for control of their town and the rest of the world.
Crimson Peak (October 2015)
Just in time for Halloween 2015 Crimson Peak will be hitting theaters. Crimson Peak is one of the horror films that is predicted to be a huge hit with fans and critics. It’s written and directed by legendary Guillermo del Toro and it has a first rate cast that includes Mia Wasikowska from Alice in Wonderdland, Jessica Chastain, Tom Hiddleston, Charlie Hunnam from Sons of Anarchy, and Jim Beaver. The story is set in England in the 19th century and follows a young author as she gets married and settles into married life but discovers that her doting husband is not who or what he appears to be. This period romp created by del Toro is one of the can’t-miss films of 2015 because it’s sure to have del Toro’s signature lush visuals and a compelling story as well as great acting.
