Halloween may be closer than you even believe and if you are among those who love this holiday, you will want it to turn out perfectly. And if you want your party to be party-themesperfect, you will have to start thinking of how to organize it well before the 31st of October so that you have plenty of time to make the right choices.

Throwing a themed Halloween party can be a great way to make sure that you will be original and that your guests will feel amazingly well. Of course, you could throw a simple Halloween party and not go into too much detail, but a themed party can really make the difference between a house full of guests enjoying themselves and a party everyone has experienced before.

Just to give you an idea on how great such a party can be, here are some of the best Halloween party theme ideas:

Mystery murder – For those who like Sherlock Holmes, this kind of party can be a great way to entertain yourself. Even more, you will not have to think of too many games as the entire party will be a great game in itself. Have someone disappear from the party and then announce it out loud. Try to find out who the “murderer” is by placing the hints around the house. Offer a prize to the person who manages to elucidate the mystery as well. If you do set your mind on this theme, make sure you plan out every single detail because it will actually make the difference!

The masquerade ball – If you want to throw a fancy Halloween party, then this is the perfect way to do it. You don’t have to be in Venice to enjoy a classy costume party, as you can organize it right at home. You will need to put some effort into decorating your home in a typical Venetian style, but with a bit of attention to detail, you can really pull this off even if you don’t have an unlimited budget at your disposal.

Superheroes – If X-Men really blew your mind this year or if you loved the Super Man movie, you will love the idea of a superhero vs. villain party as well. Let your guests know that they should dress up as either a superhero or as a villain and then organize games with the two sides and see if the good guys will win this time as well.

The dead celebrities party – If you ever wanted to have Jimi Hendrix, J.F. Kennedy, Marilyn Monroe and John Lennon invited at one of your parties, then you will like the idea of a Halloween party where your guests can dress up as their favorite celebrity (as long as that person is dead, of course). Who knew Che Guevara would ever have drinks with Elvis on your front porch?

The haunted house -This is a true classic, but it never actually grows old. Decorate your home in a way that will send shivers of spookiness on your guests’ spine and you are guaranteed to be praised as the best party host of the year! Hide scary things around your home, organize a spooky tour and, if you are brave enough, actually throw the party in an old uninhabited house (if you can have legal access to such a place, of course).

The vampire party – Dracula may have been popular a few decades ago, but now vampires are totally “out of the coffin” and they are walking around as if it’s normal to have long teeth and feed on human blood. Twilight and True Blood have really stirred people’s fascination with vampires and it would be a great idea to throw such a party as well, as there are plenty of vampire characters your guests can choose from.

Movie themed party – If you have a favorite movie or TV show and you would love to live “in the world” of your favorite characters (even if just for a night), you could throw a party based on the theme of that movie. Imagine all the X-Men characters having drinks at your house or imagine all the 13 ghosts of the movie “Thir13en Ghosts” dancing in the middle of your living room!
